Rain and You || A Hindi Poem | बारिश और तुम || हिन्दी कविता

Rain and you || बारिश और तुम

It’s not even April yet, and the heat is already scorching. The sun feels like it’s blasting its flares at max settings. This always brings to mind poet Saumitra’s lines from one of my favorite poems:

On days like this, when the heat is relentless, all you can think about is a cooling shower of rain. And with the thought of rain comes an inevitable flood of memories—some filled with joy, others tinged with pain.

Today’s poem takes me back to a time when I was experimenting with Hindi poetry. That sweltering summer inspired a collection of ‘rain poems’ in Hindi, and this is one of them. Hope you enjoy it!

  1. I could literally feel the earthy aroma and hear the raindrops tapping on my window as I read your words. Your writing brought back so many childhood memories of dancing in the rain and sipping chai while watching the world slow down. I loved how you expressed the emotional connection we Indians have with baarish — it’s not just weather, it’s pure nostalgia. Your words painted such vivid imagery that I felt transported to those cozy monsoon evenings.

  2. You have beautifully captured the emotions tied to rain and memories. The imagery is so vivid, I could almost feel the first raindrop and smell the earthy scent! Loved the nostalgia in every line.

    Can feel the depth of your poem Aadi. Beautiful creation in simple words.

  5. I always love the rains. Romance, love, nostalgia, all accompanied by a steaming cup of chai or coffee mix amidst the pitter-patter of rain. You have so beautifully captured this essence. And my gratitude extends a little more because your poems are sharpening my dulling Hindi reading skills.

  6. Wow… This is absolutely mesmerizing. There’s something magical about how rain stirs up old memories, and your words capture that perfectly. The imagery is so vivid—I could almost feel the first raindrop and smell that nostalgic aroma of coffee. It’s amazing how poetry has the power to transport us back in time. Loved every bit of this.

  7. haai.. baarish ki baat kar di… that too so beautifully… I can never get enough of rain content… songs, poetry, stories… love it all
    And with this piece, the way you’ve captured the emotions tied to rain—nostalgia, warmth, and longing.. maza aa gaya
    Your words painted such a vivid picture, making me feel every drop and every memory that the rains bring in. Baarish has a special way of touching the soul, and your poem does justice to that magic.
