Deep down in a ditch

Memory Opener by Olaf Hajek

Deep down there, Between those two memories,

That’s your place, Do you see it?

Look closely, how cute is that little dimple on your cheek,

Do you know, your smile gave it?

Your precious specs, curtained those beautiful eyes behind,

Trying not to give what’s on your mind,

Do you think they succeed in it?

Those constantly moving hands when you spoke,

Gave away your dance skill, did they knew it?

Your compassion for life nurtured with that joy-filled heart,

How could have you lost it?

Friends have been your lifeline, you haven’t met them in years.

How can you live without it?

I am asking you, honey, will you stop staring from the mirror,

I asked you a question, will you answer it?

What are you doing so deep down the ditch,

don’t see that ladder on your right?

It’s been years you have been down there, only god knows what you were doing.

Isn’t it time to come out of it?
